What is it?
Skyline Louvre Roofs
At Shade Smart, our Skyline Louvre Roof is a fully customisable opening roof that blends with any architectural style. Rotate the blades to let winter sun pour in, angle them for filtered summer shade, or close them completely when the weather turns.
Every system is custom designed for your property and installed by our locally based team, who understand how Queenstown's alpine conditions — hot dry summers, snow, frost and strong winds — affect outdoor spaces.
01
Control the light
Adjustable aluminium blades give you full control over sun, shade and ventilation through the day.
02
Shelter from rain
Close the roof and integrated guttering channels water away from your deck or patio.
03
Built for the climate
Engineered and manufactured in New Zealand for wind, snow loads and large temperature swings.

FAQs
Louvre Roofs questions
Do I need building consent for a louvre roof?+
Most louvre installations do not need consent, but larger systems over 30 square metres will. We help you work with your local council, and our system comes with a structural engineer's PS1 design manual to support the application.
Can a louvre roof be attached to my house?+
Yes. Louvre systems can be attached to the house using different methods, or designed as a freestanding structure.
Is a louvre roof waterproof?+
Louvre roofs are engineered for exterior use and are highly watertight when closed, though they are not designed to meet building envelope requirements for fully enclosed rooms.
